“I wouldn’t want to delay the most important day of your life.”
Ruth smirked.
“No hard feelings, right? This is better for everyone.”
Her eyes drifted deliberately to Cristina’s belly.
“You have… different priorities now.”
Cristina didn’t react.
“You’re right,” she said quietly. “Priorities do change.”
But something in her tone made Ruth hesitate.
