Then he turned to her with clear disgust. “Mrs. Chandler,” he said, “why does this report say the youngest child is his brother’s?” Her face turned pale. The judge brought his gavel down and said three words that destroyed her.

“Before I sign, Your Honor, I would like to present one final piece of evidence for the court’s consideration.”
