No laughter.

Just a single blue balloon carrying a message from someone I’d never meet.
For reasons I couldn’t explain, it made me smile.
The balloon slowly deflated over the next few days, but I couldn’t bring myself to throw away the little card.
Instead, I placed it on my refrigerator.

This one was bright yellow, tied carefully to a bench in the neighborhood park.
