Soon the entire neighborhood began talking about the mysterious balloons.
People posted pictures online whenever they found one.
Children begged their parents to take evening walks so they could search for new messages.
Some families even created little maps of places where balloons had appeared.
No one knew who was behind them.
Until one Saturday morning.
Our neighborhood park was hosting a children’s craft fair, and I decided to stop by.
Near one of the picnic tables, dozens of children were decorating colorful balloons with markers, ribbons, and handwritten notes.
