At 68, I bought myself an expensive red dress for my niece’s wedding… But when my daughter saw the price, she said something that broke my heart.

She remained seated for a few moments, her fork untouched, her eyes fixed on the table.

The sharp confidence she had carried earlier was gone.

Instead, she looked almost… embarrassed.

Finally, she stood.
