“She is recovering. Broken arm, cracked ribs, concussion. Very fortunate.” He tilted his head. “Because of you.”
I should have shut the door.
Instead, I stepped aside.
That was my first mistake.
Graham entered like he owned the air.
He didn’t sit until I moved Lily’s coloring books off the couch. Even then, he sat at the edge, careful not to touch too much.
Lily peeked around the kitchen wall.
