“Write a sentence about your home.”

Most children didn’t think twice.

“My home is warm.”
“My mom makes the best food.”
“I love my room.”

Normal sentences. Easy ones. The kind that come from children who don’t have to think about what “home” means.

Jonas stared at his blank page.

His pencil hovered.
