The night my 14-year-old son mocked our waiter with Down syndrome, I realized I was looking at a stranger.

Leo is smart, funny, charming when he wants to be, and usually the first person to help our elderly neighbor carry groceries inside.

That Friday evening, I took him to his favorite steakhouse to celebrate the best report card he’d ever brought home.
