Don’t overthink it!
Remove the sheets, pillowcases, and any other bedding they specifically asked you to remove, then place everything where they indicated.
Strip It If There’s an Obvious Linen Hamper
If you’ve been staying in a guest room and there’s a clearly designated laundry basket or hamper with used linens inside, that can be a pretty good indication that the household separates bedding after guests leave.
In that situation, following the established routine is usually more helpful than making the bed.
But there’s an important exception:
Don’t go searching through closets and cabinets to figure out where everything belongs.
