“Dad,” he whispered nervously, glancing back toward the staircase.
“We have to leave. Right now.”
Marcus smiled, assuming it was another childhood scare.
“Why?”
Noah didn’t smile back.
Instead, he slowly pointed upward.
“We don’t have time,” he said, his voice shaking. “We need to leave this house.”
Marcus felt a sudden chill crawl up his spine.
“What did you see, buddy?”
Noah swallowed.
“I heard Mom talking upstairs before she left.”
