While some folks prefer to head out with their partners to swinging festivals or cruise ships where upside down pineapples are a strangely common sight, others simply like to spend time relaxing in their birthday suits.
And while you might think that nude cruises are based around sex, you’d actually be wrong, as it’s simply a form of expressionism for the 2,000-strong attendees on a US-based cruise ship.
Kat Whitmire has worked for Bare Necessities Tour and Travel since 1997 and has a pretty good grasp of the best way to enjoy the nude cruises, having progressed from a model to cruise ship organiser and vice-president.
She told Business Insider: « Nudism is about leaving judgment behind. When you’re not wearing clothes, you can’t immediately tell someone’s economic status or how they vote; you have to talk to them to find out who they are. Our guests form deep friendships that I don’t think form as readily on a textile cruise.
« We’re not a swingers’ cruise. This is not lifestyle travel. There are plenty of those travel opportunities out there, but that’s not what we do. »
Kat also shared some of the most important rules to remember if you’re ever aboard a nude cruise, as forgetting any of these could prove to be a bit embarrassing, or potentially even get you kicked off the ship.
