Part of me wanted to confront him. To scream, to cry, to demand answers… Another part of me stayed still. Quiet. Thinking.
When Blake came out of the shower, I handed him his phone calmly.
“You got a message ” I said.
He glanced at it, his expression shifting for a split second before he recovered.
” work stuff ” he replied casually.
I nodded, as if I believed him.
That night I didn’t sleep. I kept replaying everything in my head. The lies, the moments I had trusted them, and the fact that my own sister had been standing beside me while betraying me.
Somewhere between the pain and the disbelief, something else settled in.
Clarity.
I realized that shouting or confronting them in private wouldn’t change anything. They had already made their choices. What mattered now was how I chose to respond.
